Moon Man 月亮先生 (yuè liàng xiān shēng)
This beautiful and timeless classic by celebrated French author Tomi Ungerer offers a unique take on lunar imagination.
The friendly Moon Man, pale and soft, leaves his “shimmering seat in space”, catches the “fiery tail” of a passing comet, and lands on earth to partake in the jubilation of earthlings which he has longingly observed for ages. Unfortunately, when he arrives on earth, he finds himself vilified by authority figures who feel threatened by the unfamiliar.
Moon Man's dream of dancing with earthlings crumbles when he is put in jail. Luckily, his special lunar powers allow him to escape. After 2 weeks in hiding, once again, he becomes whole and finally enjoys a night of dancing. However, the authorities are still in pursuit, so he ultimately retreats home thanks to the help of a rocket scientist!
