老虎先生来撒野 (lǎo hǔ xiān shēng lái sā yě) Mr. Tiger Goes Wild is a beautifully illustrated story by Peter Brown which strikes a chord with kids who are all-too-familiar with the daily struggle to keep their wilder sides contained!
Everyone was happy with the way things were. . . except Mr. Tiger. He was bored with being so proper. He wanted to “loosen up” , “have fun” , and “be wild”. Then, one day, he had an idea. He started walking on all fours, pouncing, & roaring. He felt better as he became wilder and wilder each day. His very proper friends did not know what was going on. Then, Mr. Tiger went a little too far when he stripped completely. His friends told him that if he must go wild, he should do so in the wilderness. So he ran away to the wilderness where he went completely wild. Ultimately, however, he was lonely. He missed his friends and his home and the city. When he returned, he found that things had begun to change. Unlike before, he now felt free to be himself. . . and so did everyone else.
