我想吃一个小孩(wǒ xiǎng chī yī gè xiǎo hái) I'd Really Like to Eat a Child is an original French story that makes children laugh and giggle, so that they want to read it again and again!
Every morning, little crocodile Qiqi’s mother brings him piles of bananas for breakfast. Mom is so proud of Qiqi’s beautiful teeth and growing body! Until one morning, Qiqi suddenly doesn’t want to eat bananas anymore. “Today, I would like to eat a child”. What a strange idea! Qiqi’s parents think. Dad brings Qiqi a sausage as big as a truck and mom makes him a big chocolate cake. . .“No, Qiqi said, I would just like to eat a child!” Qiqi starts to feel weak from being hungry, while mom and dad grow worried. Qiqi walks towards the river to try to take a bath. Here he sees a little girl! Qiqi runs over, uses all his might to show all his teeth. Does he eat the child? What lesson does he learn? Will Qiqi ever eat bananas again?
This hilarious story teaches perspective and the importance of eating well while introducing common Chinese vocabulary.
