Originally published in English, the title book Peek-A Who? 猜猜我是谁 (cāi cāi wǒ shì shuí) named one of Scholastic Parent & Child magazine's 100 Greatest Books for Kids. The clever design, unique illustration style, and the rhyming English text were undoubtedly responsible.
The Chinese version of the 猜猜我是谁 books have quickly become one of our favorites because the vibrant pictures and simple back and forth dialogue help babies and young children learn key vocabulary (in either language), while the signature die-cut interactions keep kids wanting to read these books again and again.
Early Literacy Tip for Parents of Toddlers & Preschoolers: If your child is 2 years or older, get in the habit of pointing your finger at each character as you read along with the stories. Luka currently reads one sentence the book Grow Up! differently from the text. Instead of "我要快快长大 wǒ yào kuài kuài cháng dà (I want to grow up fast)”， Luka reads "宝宝长大了 bǎo bǎo cháng dà le (baby grows up to be).“ This is because the publisher updated the translation in this newly released version since Luka's manufacturer did the audio book recording.
